Delta Sleep are a British Indie Rock band formed in 2010 in Canterbury. They are currently signed to Oxford based label Big Scary Monsters. Their current line up consists of Devin Yuceil (vocals, guitar), Glen Hodgson (lead guitar), Dave Jackson (bass) and Blake Mostyn (drums). The band underwent a line up change shortly after the release of ‘Management’ with original bassist Maria Sullivan and drummer Adam Brodigan leaving the band to be replaced by Dave Jackson and Blake Mostyn.

Delta Sleep’s attraction has always come from the dynamics they produce. Drawing as much influence from punk, indie and electronic music as the math-rock world they’re home to, the band have previously released an EP and one full-length album to-date. They have toured across the UK, Europe, Japan and Mexico since their formation, whilst also repeatedly appearing at festivals such as ArcTanGent, Handmade Festival, Truck Festival and 2000 Trees.
Now, encouraged by the burgeoning scene, the band make their return this summer with ‘Ghost City, their first release in three years, which is due out this August on Big Scary Monsters.

What started as an earnest foray into pushing the boundaries of fledgling math-rock has morphed into something much more for Delta Sleep. The band surprise their listeners with every release by constantly tweaking and perfecting their sound, and their new album is no exception to this ethic. Not content to be defined by any strict sub-genre or category, Delta Sleep continue to push beyond the labels of just math-rock, demonstrating a firm command of structure and melody.

The band’s future-facing approach to intelligent songwriting has previously garnered them considerable support from fervent fans and critics alike, combining guitar driven melodies over jazz influenced grooves, all topped with thought provoking and emotional vocals. ‘Ghost City’ is the sound of Delta Sleep at their inspiring best, mirroring the energy of their live shows interlaced with moments of sweeping ambience and uplifting, complex and captivating instrumentation.

For those who were previously enthralled by the band’s richly textured sound this is a significant release on its own terms. ‘Ghost City’ is the sound of their life and subsequent cultural experiences redefining the way the band collectively compose and express themselves, resulting in their most focused and exciting work so far.
Delta Sleep will play two dates with This Town Needs Guns in late April, and will appear at ArcTanGent, Handmade Festival, Portals Festival, and Bad Pond Festival this year, with future shows to be announced.
