Arab Strap is a Scottish indie rock band formed in 1995 in Falkirk. Known for their raw, often confessional lyrics, they explore themes of love, heartbreak, and hedonism, set against atmospheric and minimalist instrumentation. Their sound combines elements of post-rock, folk, and electronic music, often accompanied by spoken-word vocals from frontman Aidan Moffat. Arab Strap gained critical acclaim with albums like Philophobia (1998) and The Last Romance (2005). After a hiatus, they reunited in 2016, continuing to create introspective and emotive music with a distinct Scottish edge.
