Civil Service are an experimental post rock band - born from a conversation at ArcTanGent 2015 - based in Manchester, UK.The band combine ethereal, soaring guitars, crunching rhythm and melody that jumps between genres, to create soundtracks to life's big questions. 2024s debut album ///Light tracks the band's search for hope and meaning, whilst 2025s counterpart Dark/// explores the obstacles we face as people and as a planet. Having forged a name for themselves in the UK post rock scene as energetic and polished support for And So I Watch You From Afar, Overhead the Albatross, Din of Celestial Birds & Svalbard; Civil Service are proud to grace stages at the biggest events in post rock during 2026 including CAN Festival (China), 5NDREAS post-rock (Germany) -&- their ArcTanGent debut!
