Papangu is a Brazilian prog rock and avant-metal band hailing from the easternmost point of the Americas. This sextet blends the heaviness of sludge metal with the rhythmic and harmonic complexity of Brazilian music, creating a unique and dynamic sound. Their critically acclaimed debut album Holoceno (2021) combined Faustian myth with ecological eschatology, establishing their distinctive style. Their sophomore album, Lampião Rei (2024), intensifies their cinematic zeuhl influences, featuring collaborations with guests from renowned bands like Magma and Ad Nauseam. Known for their fiery live performances, Papangu has toured Brazil extensively and are eager to bring their sound to ArcTanGent 2025.
