SARA ZOZAYA
SATURDAY
MAIN STAGE
11:00 - 11:30
A progression unfolds as layers of soundscapes emerge, carried by Sara Zozaya’s voice. This is 'attä', her new EP. Rooted in intimate memories, close connections, and fresh influences, "attä" is an emotional refuge—minimalist and transformative. It marks the beginning of a new chapter in the career of the Donostia-born artist, a threshold both personal and artistic, revealing Sara simultaneously enjoying and confronting the unknown. Curiosity, nostalgia, sorrow, and small farewells come to life through sounds that span dark ambient, bedroom pop, and electronic music. Influences echo in her work, from Julianna Barwick to Ethel Cain and Elena Setien. Like a northern dawn, Sara’s light emerges amid cold, darkness, and beauty.
The EP is released by Catalan label Aloud Music, known for albums by artists such as Marina Herlop and Viva Belgrado. Production is in collaboration with artist Ke Lepo.
Sara Zozaya is one of the Basque Country’s brightest young talents. She is also involved in other leading projects in the local scene, but since her first solo EP in 2018, she has been recognized among Mondosonoro’s “best demos of the year.” Her discography includes one LP and two EPs, along with collaborations with notable artists like Benito Lertxundi and Valdivia. Rafa Berrio once said: "Anyone who hasn’t yet seen Sara Zozaya on stage is in for a major discovery. Word of honor." Since her teens, she has been experimenting with lo-fi, pop, Basque tradition, and minimalism, performing at festivals such as Primavera Sound and Eufonic. Today, she performs solo, supported by live visuals, presenting her work in full. New artistic directions, but always with two constants: creative freedom and her voice—the foundation that has never left her path.
