Sometime in February started in 2020 as an instrumental solo project by guitarist Tristan Auman, but quickly transformed into a full-fledged prog rock trio with the addition of drummer Scott Barber and bassist Morgan Johnson. The Carolina-based band released their debut EP Here Goes in 2021, followed by their first LP There Goes in 2023. After Tristan joined Between the Buried and Me live, the band signed to InsideOutMusic and released the single “Hiding Place” in early 2024. Their sophomore album Where Mountains Hide is set for release on March 21, 2025, with singles like “The Bad Fight” featuring Paul Waggoner.
