WITCHSORROW

THURSDAY

PX3 STAGE

12:10 - 12:40

The calling of doom metal is not for the fly by night, or those who seek an easy path to glory. For those drawn to its flame, it is the awakening of Black Sabbath’s dark spirit through the music that is its own rich reward. And for those elites who truly walk the path of doom, it is a journey without end, a pilgrimage that eventually becomes part of the traveller’s very bones and spirit.

For Hampshire doom metal maniacs Witchsorrow, it has become a life’s work. Formed by singer/guitarist Necroskull and bassist Emily Witch almost two decades ago, and with a mission to celebrate the traditions of doom as practiced by such puritans as Cathedral, Electric Wizard, Saint Vitus, Trouble and Candlemass, across albums like 2012’s God Curse Us, 2015’s No Light, Only Fire, and 2018’s punishing Hexenhammer, their hymns to the void have earned them a reputation as defenders of the faith, while carving out a vibe of their own, as obsessed with crawling grimness as they are full-blooded heavy metal.

It's taken them across Europe, spreading their darkness from the stages at Download, Bloodstock, Roadburn, ArcTanGent, Desertfest and beyond.

Now a new dawn begins, with a new drummer, Scott Doom, and new music threatened for 2026. If the world needs a soundtrack to its madness, Witchsorrow provide it. Heavier, darker, doomier, and more metal than ever before, one of doom’s leading lights are perfect for the interesting times in which we live.

Bang your head. And beware the Hexenhammer.
